Care Instructions

At House of Stala, we make each dark brown suzani jacket by hand, using natural cotton velvet and hours of traditional embroidery. This piece carries that same craftsmanship, and with a little care it will stay beautiful for years to come. We’ve put together the guide below so you can wear it with confidence, season after season.

  • Dry clean only (recommended): take your jacket to a professional cleaner to preserve its shape and prevent the embroidery threads from bleeding
  • Steam: Using a handheld steamer to remove wrinkles safely at home
  • Hand wash: in cold water only if strictly necessary, and avoid soaking for a long time
  • Never use a washing machine
  • Never iron directly on the embroidery
  • Storage: Store on a hanger, away from direct sunlight, to protect the colors

As a handmade piece, the velvet jacket deserves a little extra care, but that care is simple, and it goes a long way.
