Every bag in this collection is hand picked, and none of them make it onto our shelves by chance. We have strict criteria and standards that each bag needs to meet: it must be handmade, produced ethically by artisans who are treated and paid fairly, made in small batches, and created in line with slow fashion and sustainability principles. Beyond that, we look closely at the quality of the materials, the precision of the stitching and the care in every detail, so that each bag is made to be used and loved for a long time. What makes each bag unique comes down to the hands that made it: the fabric, the colors, the embroidery or quilting, and the small variations that only handwork can create. This is especially true for our embroidered tote bags, where every motif is stitched by hand and no two finished pieces look exactly the same. The Rodia Collection Rodia is our own design, and its name comes from the Greek word for pomegranate. Each Rodia bag is made of soft velvet and hand embroidered with pomegranate seeds and flowers, a motif that has long symbolized abundance, fertility and good fortune in Greek tradition. Every bag starts from our design and is embroidered by highly skilled artisans, so the thread colors, the density of the seeds and the shape of each flower vary slightly from piece to piece.

Velvet, quilted cotton and hand embroidery all need a gentler routine, and good care is the most sustainable thing you can do for your bag, since it helps it last for years. * Spot clean only. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth for small marks and never soak the bag. * Dry clean for deeper cleaning, especially for velvet and embroidered bags, to protect the fabric and stop the threads from bleeding. * Never machine wash or tumble dry, as it can distort the shape and damage the stitching. * Store your bag stuffed with tissue paper, in a dust bag if you have one, away from direct sunlight to keep the colors from fading.
