Product Description

Our brown embroidered velvet bag starts with warm cacao-brown velvet. The Rodia bloom sits on top in rust, dusty mauve and cream, and sage-green leaves climb up toward the handles. Of all six colorways, this is the most earthbound one. It’s a rich neutral that’s easy to wear, and it still carries the same hand-worked detail as the rest of the range.

Handmade & Artisan Story

This brown embroidered velvet bag is stitched entirely by hand, by artisans working in small batches. Each floral cluster is built up thread by thread, and that takes several hours. No two people stitch exactly alike. So you’ll see small variations in the embroidery, and that’s normal. It’s how you know a person made it and a machine didn’t.

Dimensions

Here’s how the Cacao Brown Rodia velvet bag measures up:

  • Width: 30 cm
  • Height: 35 cm
  • Handle length: 40 cm
  • A velvet bow is attached at the top of the handles

Good to know: the rust and mauve Rodia embroidery is on the front of the bag. The back is left as plain cacao-brown velvet with no stitching at all.

Materials

The brown embroidered velvet bag is made with:

  • Exterior: 100% cotton velvet in cacao brown, hand-embroidered with cotton and silk thread in rust, dusty mauve, cream and sage green
  • Lining: cotton
  • Closure: concealed zip at the top opening
  • Interior: one slip pocket
  • Handles: velvet, with a velvet bow attached at the top

Care Instructions

Cacao-brown velvet with rust and mauve embroidery needs a gentle hand. Here’s how to look after it:

  • Spot clean only. A soft dry cloth works, or a cloth lightly dampened with mild soap. Dab, don’t rub or scrub the stitched flowers.
  • No machine washing, tumble drying, soaking or bleach.
  • Let it air dry flat, away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Never iron the brown velvet pile directly.

When you’re not carrying it, fill it with tissue paper and keep it in a breathable dust bag away from direct light. The cacao pile and the rust and mauve thread will hold their shape and color much better that way
