Product Description

Our Green velvet bag with embroidery pairs soft sage-green velvet with a moodier Rodia bloom than you’ll find anywhere else in the collection. The outer petals are aubergine-brown. The centers are burnt orange and mustard, with small blush blossoms scattered in between. Out of the six colorways, it’s the most dramatic one: a muted, garden-toned base carrying rich, saturated thread.

Handmade & Artisan Story

Every green velvet bag with embroidery in the Rodia collection is stitched by hand. The deeper aubergine and orange tones are built up in layers of thread, and each motif takes several hours. As with any hand embroidery, you’ll notice small differences in shading and stitch density. Those are part of the piece. They aren’t imperfections.

Dimensions

Our Sage Green Rodia velvet bag measures:

  • Width: 30 cm
  • Height: 35 cm
  • Handle length: 40 cm
  • A velvet bow is attached at the top of the handles

Good to know: the aubergine and burnt orange Rodia bloom is stitched on the front. The back stays plain sage-green velvet, with no embroidery.

Materials

Here’s what goes into the green velvet bag with embroidery:

  • Exterior: 100% cotton velvet in sage green, hand-embroidered with cotton and silk thread in aubergine-brown, burnt orange, mustard and blush
  • Lining: cotton
  • Closure: concealed zip at the top opening
  • Interior: one slip pocket
  • Handles: velvet, with a velvet bow attached at the top

Care Instructions

The sage-green velvet and its aubergine and burnt orange embroidery only ask for a little care:

  • Spot clean only, using a soft dry cloth or one lightly dampened with mild soap. Dab gently, and don’t rub or scrub the pile or the thread.
  • It can’t go in the washing machine or the tumble dryer. Don’t soak or bleach it either.
  • Air dry flat, away from direct sunlight and away from heat.
  • Don’t iron the sage velvet pile directly.
  • Keep it stuffed with tissue paper in a breathable dust bag, away from direct light, when you’re not using it. That way the green pile and the saturated Rodia threadwork hold their shape and color.
